Catalina Update

The Catalina visit now has its own page, which you can see here.  As I previously posted, there'll be a chance for every visitor arriving before 14:30 on Saturday 24th August to win an once-in-a-lifetime flight in this fabulous warbird.  Plane Sailing have also very kindly agreed to open the doors for guided tours on Sunday 25th between 10:00 and 12:00.

Form an orderly queue behind me...

Do you know what time the Catalina will fly in? I would so love to be there for that. My father was a navigator on Catalinas towards the end of WWII, and was able to take a flight in one (this one?) from Duxford nearly 30 years ago. He rarely cried, but that was one of those times.

That must have been a moving experience for you both, Annette. I've asked our Ops guys for expected timings for its movements at the weekend and I'll post them up here as soon as I know more.

Here are our expected timings for the Cat's movements: Saturday: Arrival approximately 16:00 local time, departing around an hour later for a local flight and returning approximately 30-45 minutes after that.

Sunday: Departure approx 13:00 local time.

Brilliant!

Having the opportunity see inside the Catalina while having fascinating talks by the crew. With a great finale of seeing it depart.
