CAF on the Telly

We're on TV again, this time on BBC2 at 9:00pm on Friday 8th November.  It's the first of two episodes of BBC2's series Hot Jets, in which they'll be focusing on the Cold War. As always it's impossible to predict how much you'll see of us, but we had film crews at both Coventry and Newquay, all of whom were very excited about the footage they obtained.

We took presenter James Holland for a flight in the Jet Provost T3, and managed some stunning air-to-air shots using a Go-Pro camera attached to our Piper PA28. These included a great landing sequence where it's possible to see James in the JP as the wheels come down and Jon Corley takes her in for one of his typical featherlight touchdowns. The gentlemen of the BBC were suitably impressed and accepted the footage with gratitude.

Whether or not CAF figures as strongly as we hope, it should be a fascinating programme.

Jem As director of the programme I can put your mind at rest. The Provost flight, a lovely looking Vampire and the engines running up on your Meteor all feature. And they all look (and sound) marvellous too.

Thanks very much Simon, kind of you to come back to us on that - and so quickly too! BeebTwo 9:00 on Friday - well that's a definite stay-in night!

Saw the programme and was delighted to see the involvement of Classic Airforce, particularly as, with my wife, I had visited you early in October. The coverage, particularly The JP flight, was stunning. I flew my FS9 Meteor 7 to St Mawgan & parked her by the VC10!!
